ASA believes that visual storytelling can be used as a vehicle to promote reflection and discussion on local, national and global issues. Since founding, its members have worked together to devise and produce a series of educational and photographic projects of which their monthly slideshow events are the most widely recognized. Since 2010 they have presented projects showcasing the work of both established and emerging contemporary photographers.

Mariana Santos, was born by the beach in Algarve, South Portugal.
Formed in Communication Design from the Fine Arts School of Lisbon, later she received a digital media degree at Hyper Island in Stockholm and moved to London where she works for the Guardian as an interactive motion designer.
Truly passionate about what she believes in, embraces life and projects giving all of herself.
"Fight & Win, never give up, always try to make good ideas become reality" is her motto.
